Fifty community initiatives supported in first two years of Inch Cape Construction Fund

In its second year, the Inch Cape Construction Fund supported a total of 20 separate community groups, awarding almost £38,000 and enabling an additional £231,800 to be leveraged in matched funding.
This means a total of 50 different community initiatives have been supported across Prestonpans, Cockenzie and Port Seton since the fund was launched in February 2024, and almost £82,000 awarded.

In 2025, more than 75% of those groups applying for funding were successful with children and young people being the main beneficiaries through holiday activity programmes, sporting clubs and employability schemes. The highest proportion of grants went to initiatives and activities that supported physical health and mental well-being, for example through the provision of services for vulnerable groups and recreational outlets.
The amount of matched funding that was able to be leveraged meant, in real terms, that for every £1 awarded through the Fund during 2025, an additional £5.02 was brought into the community.
