Young people to benefit from latest Construction Fund grants

The latest round of grants from the Inch Cape Construction fund have been awarded to two organisations supporting local young people, specifically with social and physical well-being, each receiving £2000.

PSG Youth, which promotes and supports youth work in Prestonpans, Port Seton and Longniddry will receive funds to run a programme of summer activities for 10 hours each week of the six week holiday period between June and August. Activities will include outdoor sports, nature walks and gardening, and will be run by qualified youth workers.

The second award was to Lothian Colts Football Club, going towards the cost of weekly pitch hire ensuring participants have an outlet for physical activity and social interaction. It will also cover the cost of new kits, ensuring all players are dressed the same, fostering inclusivity and team cohesion.

The Inch Cape Construction Fund awards £45,000 per annum to  groups and organisations from Prestonpans, and Cockenzie & Port Seton, for projects or initiatives that aim to tackle the effects of poverty and inequality or to improve the local environment and support a sustainable future.
