Inch Cape launches third year of construction fund for community

Grants of up to £2000 will be available to community groups and charities in Prestonpans, Cockenzie and Port Seton during 2026 as the Inch Cape Construction Fund continues for a third year.
Managed by independent funder Foundation Scotland, the offshore wind farm’s grant-making programme supports communities near the project’s onshore substation, which is now under construction at the site of the former Cockenzie Power Station, in East Lothian
Over the coming 12 months, a total of £45,000 will be available for initiatives which tackle the effects of poverty and inequality, such as isolation and ill health; improve physical and mental health; support education and learning and help to improve the local environment.
In its first two years, the Fund awarded almost £90,000 for 46 different local initiatives, ranging from educational outings for students and Christmas lights to local gala days, community garden improvements, community sport and music groups and employability programmes.

Information and the online application forms are available on the Inch Cape Construction Fund page of the Foundation Scotland website.
Details of the groups which received funding during the first two years of the Fund can be found on the construction fund page on the Inch Cape website.
Inch Cape Offshore Wind Limited is a 50/50 equal joint venture between ESB and Red Rock Renewables.
