Four community groups receive support from Inch Cape Construction Fund

Four community groups from Cockenzie, Port Seton and Prestonpans will receive a total of £6,940 from the Inch Cape Construction Fund following the latest round of grant giving.
The four successful organisations will receive the funding for a range of worthy initiatives including: community gardening, a book festival for students and families, gardening as therapy and employability skills for unemployed parents.
The groups to receive funding are: Cockenzie and Port Seton in Bloom, Preston Lodge Learning Foundation, Trellis Scotland and Impact Arts (Projects) Limited.

The £45,000 per annum Inch Cape Construction Fund is managed by independent funder Foundation Scotland and is now in its third year. Applications are open on a rolling basis for local groups who would like funding for activities which help to:
- Improve physical and/or mental health and wellbeing
- Reduce isolation or loneliness within the community
- Increase access to education, learning and employment
- Improve the local environment
- Reduce food or fuel poverty
Grants are awarded roughly every three months and applications are encouraged from groups and organisations working to benefit those living in the community council areas nearest the project’s onshore substation works – Cockenzie and Port Seton, and Prestonpans. A total of £26,000 is still available for 2026.
