Export cable pulled in to landfall at Cockenzie

The first section of Inch Cape’s 85-kilometre long export cable has been pulled in to the project’s landfall site at Cockenzie in East Lothian.

The operation was carried out by Enshore Subsea using the CMOS Installer DP2 cable laying vessel which specialises in shallow water cable lay and trenching projects. The vessel was mobilised from the Port of Blyth in Northumberland.

The landfall section of 220kV three-phase export cable is the second of three 28-kilometre sections to be installed, with the middle section already in place and the final section shortly to be installed.
