NES Fircroft

NES Fircroft is the world’s largest technical provider of workforce solutions to the energy sector and through its offices in Glasgow and Aberdeen, has been supporting the UK offshore wind sector since 2015. The firm began working with Inch Cape in August 2024.

NES Fircroft has provided Inch Cape with quality assurance/quality control surveillance oversight across several sites in China, delivered from the UK office in Glasgow, and supported through the firm’s local presence in China.  These services were to cover yards in Qinzhou, Zhongshan and Longxue during the manufacturing and fabrication of foundation structures, which would be installed offshore UK.

Outcome

Working hand-in-hand with the Inch Cape team in Edinburgh, NES Fircroft’s specialist teams delivered expatriate and local talent across several sites in China.  With NES Fircroft having supported offshore wind and energy projects across China since 2009, they were able to provide added value to Inch Cape with support on immigration, visa, payroll, and in-country compliance, whilst also acting as the travel and logistics provider for the UK team visiting sites across China.

A Scottish team, with a vast international footprint, spanning fabrication locations globally, NES Fircroft gained valuable added experience by working with Inch Cape during this critical execution phase. The company is now well positioned to support future Scottish offshore wind projects as they move from development into execution, with its more than 80 offices across 45 countries.

Neil Mellin, Regional Business Development Director, at NES Fircroft said:

With a long-standing presence in both Glasgow, and Aberdeen, we are delighted to be supporting Scottish offshore wind projects through the execution phase.  The QA/QC Surveillance across several sites in China allowed Inch Cape to fall-back on NES Fircroft’s many years of providing compliant employment solutions and supported on time delivery of the project schedule.”
