Supply chain
Working together
Inch Cape has placed a quarter of our packages directly with non-Tier 1 suppliers, broadening opportunities and contributing to the development of the wider offshore wind sector.
Our multi-contracting strategy
Inch Cape has adopted a multi-contract approach throughout its
development and into its construction. More than 330 UK suppliers have
so far been involved with the maturation of the project. While most of the
direct Inch Cape construction scopes of work have already been awarded,
there are still opportunities to get involved via our key contractors, and throughout the project’s operations and maintenance.
Register for our database
If you are a supplier interested in working with us or with our key contractors, please register on our Supply Chain Database. Our procurement team and key contractors use it when shortlisting for tenders and you will receive information about upcoming events and project updates.
Search for a supplier
Inch Cape has created a searchable portal to enable companies looking for specific goods or services to be able to search for relevant registered businesses. All suppliers who have successfully registered for our Supply Chain Database will be listed within this search function.
Opportunities
Specific tender opportunities will be posted on the North Sea Transition Authority’s Energy Pathfinder a portal providing visibility of upcoming opportunities on the UK Continental Shelf. To see how the Energy Pathfinder works you can view this guidance video. It is recommended you bookmark the portal for reference.
As well as expressing interest with us directly, we would encourage suppliers to engage with local offshore wind clusters. Inch Cape is particularly working with Forth & Tay Offshore and Energi Coast as well as the Clean Energy Cluster. It will also pay to keep an eye on industry events for example those run by Scottish Renewables and Renewable UK.
Both Inch Cape’s shareholders are committed to working with the supply chain to identify opportunities for local businesses. To register your interest in learning about future supply chain opportunities with Red Rock Renewables, visit their supply chain page. Or to find out more about working with ESB, visit the company’s supplier information page.
Supplier case studies
To date more than 350 UK suppliers and consultancies had helped to progress and shape the project, making it a truly collaborative effort. Click the button to read case studies about just some of those suppliers and their contribution to the project.
Events
There are no upcoming Inch Cape events, please check back in future to find out about further events.

Dundee is well positioned to play an increasingly important role in Scotland’s offshore wind sector especially as the current location for Inch Cape’s turbine marshalling and assembly. This event looked at Dundee’s role in supporting offshore wind and the opportunities ahead for the city and wider region. Hosted at Michelin Scotland Innovation Parc (MSIP), industry leaders, educators, infrastructure partners and local businesses came together to discuss the opportunities offshore wind presents for Dundee and the wider region.
As well as Inch Cape, speakers included representatives from Vestas, Forth Ports, Dundee and Angus College, Dundee City Council, and local suppliers Coast Renewables, Ace Aquatec and Albacom.

Inch Cape met with more than 20 suppliers to hear about the goods and services they could potentially offer the project, particularly during its operations & maintenance phase. More than 550 attended this year’s Share Fair, which is a marketplace bringing together energy industry buyers and suppliers. To find out more about past and future Share Fairs you can visit the website here.

Inch Cape once again had a Meet-the-Buyer Business Booth at this flagship Scottish event, meeting with many current and potential Inch Cape suppliers over the two-days in Glasgow and making connections for future work on construction as well as into operations & maintenance.
Inch Cape also hosted a panel session which brought a highly practical, real-world perspective to offshore wind construction today. The session included an overview of the progress so far and what’s to come as well as insights from four Scottish-based project suppliers sharing first-hand experience, contracting strategies and methods for success. With thanks to OEG, Motive Offshore Group, Forth Projects and N-Sea Group.

NOF and Energi Coast’s 10th Offshore Wind North East #OWNE25 at the Beacon of Light, Sunderland gave Inch Cape the opportunity to shine a spotlight on the huge efforts of the project’s North East suppliers and on the opportunities to come. Excellent panel representations from Vestas, Smulders, Eastgate Engineering, Enshore Subsea and Harlyn discussing their work on Inch Cape and advice for suppliers. More details and the presentations can be viewed here.

Forth and Tay Offshore hosted this Forth Ports-focused webinar to highlight supply chain pathways to the foundations and turbine marshalling activities soon being carried out for Inch Cape at both the Leith and Dundee ports. It included an Inch Cape overview and status report as well as a dive into the goods and services Forth Ports will require for its major contribution to the project. A recording of the webinar can be viewed here.

Designing for scale and safety turbine lessons learned webinar: As part of the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) Sustainability and Decarbonisation week, Inch Cape’s expert wind turbine engineers James Robinson and Stephen Kelly spoke to around 90 people on how the scale, safety and the realities of being the first UK project to install the Vestas V236-15MW turbines has driven a range of innovations and technical design decisions. The free online event was Monday 8 September. A copy of the presentation can be accessed here.
