Inch Cape nominees short-listed for two Global Offshore Wind Awards

Inch Cape has been short-listed in two categories for the Renewable UK Global Offshore Wind Awards 2025, annual awards which celebrate and recognise the achievements of projects, people, organisations and teamwork in the offshore wind sector.

Inch Cape’s Project Director John Hill has been short-listed for the Made it Happen Champion Award for his signification contribution to the development and construction of not only Inch Cape but also four other major UK offshore wind projects.

He has successfully led the installation of 2.6GW of the UK’s 14.7GW installed capacity (almost 20%) and once Inch Cape is completed in 2027 his efforts will have contributed to a total of 3.7GW of the UK’s installed capacity.  His roles have also seen him run financing processes which have generated more than £11.5 billion capital investment in the UK’s electrical infrastructure.

Inch Cape has also been short-listed for the Finance Award for its achievement of financial close in January 2025.

Inch Cape is the first UK offshore wind farm to reach financial close since the new Government took office in July 2024. Despite the impact of global political turmoil on its economic feasibility, new team members; a drive to secure vessels and suppliers; a second chance at contract for difference, and strong shareholder support enabled the project to secure more than £3.5 billion in funding and kick-off offshore construction.

Congratulations go to all the short-listed nominees, with winners to be announced at an award ceremony in London in October 2025.
