Scotland-based Global Energy Solutions provides comprehensive specialist inspection, repair, maintenance and asset integrity support to the marine energy sectors.
On Inch Cape, Global Energy Solutions is responsible for delivering the foundation completion activities at the Port of Leith in Edinburgh. The initial scope entails the receipt and inspection of the monopile transition pieces and jacket foundations as they arrive into the port.
The Global Energy Solutions team is then responsible for the execution of a number of critical activities on behalf of Inch Cape and its contractors to ensure the components are ready for installation and operation at the offshore wind farm site. This includes management of the planning, documentation, quality and technical verification to ensure each individual transition piece and foundation meets project specifications and offshore readiness standards.
In partnership with client representatives, subcontractors, and logistics teams, the Global Energy Solutions team supports safe site operations and works to ensure timely progress and the efficient handover of fully completed foundations for load‑out and installation.
Outcome
Global Energy Solutions’ involvement in the Inch Cape Offshore Wind Farm at the Port of Leith is delivering significant operational, commercial and workforce benefits. The project has created new skilled roles within the company, and is providing local employment and wider economic value through engagement with, and use of, the local supply chain.
