Gatemaster Offshore

Gatemaster Offshore specialises in offshore gate and hatch hardware, and understands the challenges faced by engineers when designing offshore platform access systems.
The West Sussex-based firm supplied 300 self-closing hinges and 78 double gate latches for Inch Cape. This scope included adapting the double gate latch design with extended sides to meet specific site requirements, integrating earthing connection points on the SeaSafe hinges, and conducting rigorous in-house testing to ensure performance and compliance. All components were engineered from high-grade stainless steel to deliver long-term reliability and corrosion resistance in the harsh offshore environment.

Outcome
Working on Inch Cape provided Gatemaster Offshore with valuable experience and opportunities for continued innovation in offshore access hardware. Through this project, the company was able to refine and enhance its hinge designs—making them even safer, more reliable, and more durable for demanding marine environments. The lessons learned directly influenced the development of new products, including the FOHO hatch system, designed to further improve worker safety and operational efficiency across the offshore sector.
This project also supported the expansion of the company’s manufacturing facility in West Sussex, UK, enabling greater production capacity and the creation of new skilled roles.
Beyond tangible growth, Inch Cape further strengthened Gatemaster Offshore’s position as a trusted engineering partner within the offshore wind industry—serving as a gateway to future renewable energy projects and reinforcing its commitment to innovation, safety, and quality in every solution delivered.
